A: It is preferred to install the sensor 1-3 meters downwind from potential chlorine leakage points such as chlorine storage equipment and pipeline joints.
The installation height should be level with or slightly lower than the leakage source (to align with chlorine’s higher density than air, ensuring rapid detection of accumulated gas).
2.Q: How long does the sensor’s battery last? What should I do if the battery drains quickly?
A: Note: This sensor (with RS485 communication) is typically powered by an external power supply (not battery-powered).
If you are using a battery-powered version, equipped with a low-power design, its battery life can reach several years under regular data reporting frequency.
However, the actual lifespan is affected by factors such as communication load.
3.Q: What are the common reasons for intermittent data transmission of the sensor?
A: In addition to poor RS485 wiring contact (e.g., loose A/B line connections), intermittent transmission may also be caused by excessive distance between the sensor and the RS485 host (exceeding the effective communication distance of RS485), or excessive number of devices on the same bus (leading to signal attenuation), or electromagnetic interference near the bus (e.g., proximity to high-power electrical equipment).
You can try adjusting the wiring (reconnect A/B lines firmly), reducing the number of devices on the bus, or moving the bus away from interference sources first.
